I just posted a new recipe for a pre-workout shake. As you know, your muscles fibers quite literally are torn during intense weight workouts and they need protein at the ready during and immediately after your workouts. Because digestion takes some time, you have to “time” your nutrition, such that your muscles are getting a steady supply of amino acids and sugar (for energy) during and after your workouts.
How? You ingest a protein shake prior to your workout.

I’ve been doing this for many years. The days I miss out on taking my shake before my workout – it’s definitely noticeable on my recovery time. Thanks for the great article

Normally, I would have a protein shake after my workout because I want HGH release during my workout and this can only come about when your glucose levels are low.

I agree – the pre- and post-workout drinks are the most important meals – bar none – of any of the meals you eat in a day.
Great recipe for a preworkout shake! I normally use whey isolate for preworkout and hydralized whey for post.
