Lift for Hope and Help a Friend

Lift 4 Hope

My friend, Julianne VanValkenburg, is in need of our support. Her husband, Tom, is fighting cancer. As you know cancer is a killer and treatment, while often times very helpful, is costly.

Phil Stevens (of Lift for Hope), Sean Casey, Nick Nilsson, and I have come together to offer some really neat ways to get cool stuff and donate all at the same time.

Check out The Thomas VanValkenburg Fight Against Cancer Fund for all the details.

An old friend of mine is running a special race across North Carolina, 545 miles in all…

…in 16 days.

That's an average of 34 miles a day for 16 days in a row.

She and two of her friends start on Memorial Day Weekend. They're raising money for the Michael J. Fox Foundation. They hope to raise $1,000 per mile, or $545,000 in all.

I'll be making regular blog posts about this, as well as frequent mentions in my newsletters and emails.

If you want to contribute to a great cause and give them a little tiny bit of inspiration (face it, these women really don't need external motivation), check out Murphy to Manteo.

Lift 4 Hope

My friend, Phil Stevens, is putting on the 3rd annual Lift 4 Hope charity event. It's a strongman / powerlifting competition that raises money for good causes.

Two years ago, he used the event to raise money for the American Cancer Society camp for children. Last year he gave the proceeds to The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona. This year he is changing the focus to a "by strength athletes for strength athletes" event. Proceeds raised will support strength athletes that compete on the international level for the United States Of America.

I will be donating all the proceeds I get during the month of May 2010 from my AdSense ads on this blog to Phil's event.

The date of the event is still being worked on, but rest-assured, you will be giving to a very admirable cause.

For specific questions about the event or cause, please contact Phil at Lift 4 Hope, as he has the answers :)
