Requesting Questions for My New FAQs Page

Like what you see here? Become a subscriber today and get a ton of free stuff!. Thanks for coming back!

Due to the volume of questions I get through email, I have decided to share your questions and my answers with all of the Muscle-Build.com readers. I’ve put togetherĀ  a FAQs page to facilitate this — please check it out and if you have any questions, ask them there (it’s super-easy — you simply fill out a form with your question. That’s it.).

After you ask a question, I’ll answer it right away.

I certainly hope this is a new feature of Muscle-Build.com that you’ll find very helpful.

My New 4-Day Split

Alert, or at least long-term, readers of this site will note that I typically advocate a 2-way split, working out 3 times a week. My routine in the past has always looked something like this:

  • Legs & Arms
  • Chest & Back & Delts

I’d work the first on Monday and Friday, the second on Wednesday. The following week, I’d do the opposite.

I’ve been working out pretty heavy lately, using more sets and lower reps. I’ve also added really heavy partials with high reps (at least 20 per set at the end of a body part’s workout).

It’s been my experience that I’ve often not trained with enough volume because I’m trying to hit 2 or 3 body parts per workout. I’ve devised a new workout routine that allows me the rest I need to recover, the freedom to work a specific body part a second time in a week, and the space to work out more intensely per workout because I’m working fewer body parts per workout.

Here’s my new work out routine:

  • Chest & Back, Monday
  • Legs, Tuesday
  • Delts & Arms, Wednesday
  • Rest on Thursday
  • Specialize on Friday (hit a lagging body part or something I want to really stress)

This routine allows me to follow my diet more closely, too. As you may remember, I suggest that people follow a nutrition plan pretty heavy on supplements and high protein, moderate carbs, and relatively high fat (for building phases); with the heavy eating, I want to give my body a rest every 4th day. So, Monday through Wednesday, I eat my “normal” heavy diet. Thursday, I pretty much fast.

Friday, I can go nuts on the supplementation while I blast the body part I want to crush.

Saturday and Sunday are pretty normal, except that I eat lighter because I’m not doing any weight training on those days.

In the next post, I’ll tell you about my back-relief supplementation plan. It’s given me the most pain relief I’ve had in years. Literally.

A Note About “Do Follow” Comments

As you may know, I have set up this site (in fact, all of my sites) as “do follow” because I want to encourage active commenting. It is my belief that doing so will foster an atmosphere of caring and sharing and that this will benefit all of us who come here.

Lately, people have been trying to exploit the system by leaving comments like “Hi.”

Take a little bit more time and add to that please! If you’re going to make the effort and take the time to register, type the comment, and click submit, why not make the comment relevant to the post? Seriously, it takes, what, 30 seconds to make an intelligent comment?

If you make a comment like “Hi” you’ve wasted your time because I will not only remove it, but I will also mark it as SPAM, which will only serve to hamper your commenting abilities on other blogs.

Here’s an excerpt from my newly-updated “Do Follow” page:

Finally, if you make a comment like “Hi” or “Thanks” I will most likely purge it from the system. Let’s work on making this a community where each of us contributes. I do my part by making posts and pages and by responding to comments; can you do your part by making intelligent comments?

I don’t mean to beĀ  a jerk about this. But you have to remember, this is my blog and I put a lot of effort into it. You could return the courtesy by putting a little effort into it.

I certainly hope this is the last time I have to write about this topic, but I am skeptical; there will always be people who want to take and never give anything.

But you’re not like that, right?

Strategies to Avoid Overeating

I just posted an article about how to avoid overeating. If you ever have issues with eating too much (as evidenced by jeans that are too tight and shirts you can no longer button), then you’ll want to check this one out.

How to Fire Up Your Inner Metabolism Monster

I just posted an article called, “The Metabolism Monster: Teaching Him That Fire Is Good” over at Muscle-Build.com. Check it out.

In brief, you have to give your body a reason to change and it’s a delicate balance between eating too little and too much. Your metabolism plays a critical role in everything you do to change your body, whether it’s muscle-building or fat-burning.
