Do Follow

This is a “Do Follow” blog, meaning that any comments made here do not have the “nofollow” attribute. In layman’s terms, this means that if you leave a comment, your link will be followed by the almighty Google.

Many internet experts believe that’s a good thing. In fact, many folks build solid backlinks by making comments ONLY on “do follow” blogs.

I’m of the belief that if you make a solid comment and it gets published, then THAT’S a good thing.

One side note: Not all comments here get published. I rely on Akismet to catch all SPAM comments; this means, for all practical purposes, if you’ve been tagged somewhere before as a spammer, then I’ll never even see your comment. Once in a while, I take a look at the “caught” comments and overrule Akismet, but that’s a rare thing.

Additionally, if you’re adding a bunch of links that are (especially) irrelevant, then I’ll disapprove them.

Finally, if you make a comment like “Hi” or “Thanks” I will most likely purge it from the system. Let’s work on making this a community where each of us contributes. I do my part by making posts and pages and by responding to comments; can you do your part by making intelligent comments?

So, to make things really easy and simple, leave thoughtful comments with a maximum of one link in the body of the comment and we’ll all be better off. And I’ll give you a valuable “do follow” backlink.

Cool?

  1. This is great news! I see you’ve also added the “Top Commenters” widget too. That is way cool.

By the way, the information given here about the quality comments leading to a good backlink is right on the money!

  2. Hey, that’s a pretty cool thing you’re doing on this blog. I have several fitness websites and I’m always looking to build backlinks and do cross marketing with other fitness bloggers and site owners. I’ll definitely provide some good comments in return for the link back.

Let me know if you ever want to do a cross marketing campaign with Fitconnect.

  8. There’s nothing wrong with building backlinks by commenting on dofollow blogs, the nofollow tag is a bad mistake by google in my opinion.

  9. I feel the same way….

Add to the conversation and get a link.

Thank You for creating this blog as a do follow. I do not come across these very often.
I definitely look forward to reading your blogs, and you can always expect a lengthy comment from myself.

    Take care.

I think it’s a really bad idea not to be do follow. Sad thing is, all WP sites come that way “out of the box.” I use Akismet for SPAM detection and it works pretty well. I guess if I had 100k visitors every month, my comments might hit SPAM hell, but I don’t have that “problem” yet :)

  13. It is refreshing to see that you are setting standards for your do-follow process on the site.   Like you, we also set standards on what blog comments we will follow and want our readers to continue to get quality results and feedback.   Thanks for sticking to a higher standard!  It definately makes your site much more engaging and useful to your readers!

  15. I am all for muscle building but I am really against creatine. There are no long term studies on this supplement and it is too heavily promoted in the weight lifting world. What are your thoughts on this product? What supplements do you recommend to weight lifters?

  16. billspaced says:

Creatine naturally occurs in muscle tissue and has been one of the most tested supplements of all time. While there are no "long term" studies of the effects of creatine (as it's only been in vogue since the mid 90s), there is thus far no evidence of long-term ill effects. Some people have experienced cramping and stomach issues. I, however, have used creatine extensively with no ill effects.

Creatine is also one of the only supplements that has been proven to deliver on its promise; in short, most people do gain mass and strength from its use.

As with anything, your mileage may vary and you should ensure that you are in good physical condition before you try it. And that's the key: Start with small doses and see what happens. If you start small, you'll be simulating a high-beef intake diet without the bad stuff like saturated fat and cholesterol.

Plus, one other thing I recommend on just about everything (besides moderation): Cycling. Use creatine for 3 weeks at the most at any given time.
Then give your body a rest and a chance to readjust.
