Student Diet

The diet of a typical college student is rotten. Sometimes literally. Pizza, greasy burgers and fries, milkshakes, and BEER (hey, sounds like my dream diet!) — they all lead to a plethora of bad things like excess fat and poor skin. Not to mention poor overall health.

But to a bodybuilder or weight trainer, this sort of diet is a killer. You’ll never reach your goals by eating like a college student. For more about the Student Diet, read this.

I Love Nachos!

As a kid, I loved all the things you’re not supposed to eat: Pizza, nachos, chocolate milk. Eggs, too (when I was growing up there was a huge campaign to get people to stop eating eggs because it was “thought to cause heart disease.”).

In fact, I still like those things. Here’s a video from a fellow “muscle guy,” Lee Hayward, where he shows you how to make low-fat nachos.

Now if he could only show us how to make low-calorie beer with a full Pacifico taste!

Homemade Supplement Secrets

I just finished reading Jeff Anderson’s Homemade Supplement Secrets, and it’s really quite good. Nearly 200 pages, the book (in PDF) is brimming with useful information. Things like the deceptive advertising and product claims that some supplement manufacturers make, the links to bodybuilding magazines, key ingredients in the most effective supplements, and — most importantly — how to make your own supplements!

All in all, buying Homemade Supplement Secrets is money well-spent: In many cases you can save over 90 percent on the cost! In fact, make one of your own supplements that mimics a popular supplement and you’ve doubled your investment!

Super Anabolic Diet

In the next few days, I’ll be putting up a post about a super anabolic diet plan I’ve got in the works. I’ll probably take a “phased approach,” either based on budget or aversion to food supplements (I know, some of you don’t like them, while some of you live by them).

Be sure to read about eggs here and here. You can bet your bottom dollar that eggs, milk, creatine, and whey will make up the biggest components of the mix. Oh, and chocolate milk!

That’s it for now. Stay tuned.
